The Beautiful Watch opinion
Datejust Oysterquartz! Yes, you're not dreaming, it's a Rolex, with a quartz movement. In the 1970's, Rolex follow the trend and jumped on the quartz movement bandwagon. They actually tested their new Gerald Genta-like design first with its integrated bracelet, witht the 1530 ref (which is automatic).
Although the Oysterquartz line existed for about 25 years (until 2003), the MKI version (with the simple "Oysterquartz" mention on the dial) was only produced for 18 months, which makes it quite rare and a sought-after watch.
An eye-candy collector's piece!
